Ivy League Biologist Dr. Ard Louis & Ivy League author Eric Metaxis discuss Faith and Investigation. As with all of these clips I have made over the years, if the feature length hour or so video still exists, go check it out. Eric Metaxas interviews Professor Ard Louis at Oxford for Socrates in the City abroad. Dr. Louis has an exceedingly distinguished academic pedigree and will be featured in our forthcoming series about evidence-based converts to Christianity as well as those lifelong Christians that held to a robust Christian theism through the gauntlet of a thoroughly secularized academic journey.
A number of modern narrative shattering truths are offered in this clip of their discussion. One, Louis’ distinguished scientifically trained parents who were Christian missionaries who stayed on the field instead of reposing in the ivory tower. Two, Louis himself being a devout practicing Christian and a Physics professor at Oxford & a chemistry professor at Cambridge. Three, discussing the number of serious Christians who are at the top of the scientific field that are amongst his colleagues in his specific area at Oxford. And four, openly discussing how well known it is that the conflict thesis between “science” and Christian religion in particular has obtained the nomenclature of current cultural “myth” amongst professional historians regardless of theological commitment.
Ard Louis here joins a chorus of scholars in his attempt to correct this broad cultural error in assumption, though it is pushed through popular media and uninformed “educators” far and wide. For a man who has lived his whole life in the matrix of profitable and proper interplay of the domains of science and religion, this conflict thesis is particularly risible.
